How to turn a unique corner of wild nature in Armenia into an ultra-modern Goght Urban Valley

One of the investors in the project for the construction of the modern cottage town Goght Urban Valley, Movses Dzavarian, in an exclusive interview with the Novosti-Armenia agency, spoke about the upcoming presentation of the social and cultural center.

The entrepreneur also presented his vision of transforming this unique corner of the legendary wilderness into a place where one can improve and live in harmony with nature.

- Movses Varazdatovich, the holiday season is almost over, and your team has probably also returned to work on the development of the Goght Urban Valley project?

- In fact, I have always had the following principle: while others are resting, carry out large-scale changes. This approach has invariably had a colossal effect, from Ameria in Russia to the current project.

Over the summer, together with our colleagues, we managed to prepare a master plan for the social and cultural center and fill it with a variety of services. In the near future, all this will be posted on our website, but in the meantime we will introduce our ideas to everyone who is interested through various information channels.

I have always been a supporter of continuous learning, so in August we organized sales training for our team together with the executive director of the Capital club, Grigor Arakelyan. Specialists from Red Invest Group were also invited to the training. My students not only accumulated new knowledge, but also became a real team.

- You mentioned continuous training. So, the famous phrase “Study, study and study” is not just words for you?

- Consider me a teaching evangelist. But seriously, I am deeply convinced that education is the only form of improving the well-being of society and changing mentality.

By the way, our team has many highly qualified specialists who returned from the USA, Great Britain, and Italy. In my opinion, it is very important when people, having received professional education abroad, return to their homeland in order to apply their knowledge and experience here. By the way, your humble servant also returned to Armenia after a long absence. The best experts from Russia also cooperate with us. We will continue to attract new people with unique experience, because our doors are always open to interesting people and fresh ideas.

- About fresh ideas. Tell us, what fresh ideas have you generated during this time?

- I’ll briefly tell you about what is no longer confidential information and will soon appear in the public domain. But anyway, I’m talking about this for the first time, so you have an exclusive.

Firstly, we decided to carry out a clear zoning of the residential and socio-cultural zones with appropriate conditions of access and use. This means that ongoing cultural or sporting events will in no way interfere with the peace of mind of residents.

Secondly, taking into account the sad experience of similar villages, in our concept the social and cultural center does not in any way burden home owners with a financial burden.

Thirdly, the social and cultural center will become a platform for all respectable visitors. According to our forecasts, it will be more of a center of attraction for residents of Armenia than for tourists. Here we start with a 70/30 ratio. However, this applies to one-time, one-day visits. Other forms of organizing study, leisure, and recreation have a completely different proportion of visitors.

The social and cultural center will operate on the principle of organizing leisure time for the whole family and organizing leisure time for each family member.

Here everyone will find something to suit their interests, be it a music studio, a dance school, traditional Armenian cuisine, chamber music or various sports grounds.

- Judging by what you say, the list of services in Goght Urban Valley is quite wide?

- Yes, it's true. I will list the main services that can be used in our center: hotel service, a restaurant of national cuisine, a cafe and co-working space, a cigar club, yoga and cardio studios, a dance studio, a children's center, a ceramics, pottery and archeology studio, a recording and programming studio, gaming center and music school, golf academy and concert hall on the water. There will also be a school and a kindergarten, several sports grounds, a store and a pharmacy, a dry cleaner and a car wash, a medical care center and a spa center, a conference hall and a tourist information center, infrastructure for dog owners, a large park area, etc.

As you can see, the list of services is huge. But this does not mean that palaces are supposed to be built for all this. No. There will be small studios, which, according to our plan, will be managed by the residents themselves. They will receive them for rent, provided that the general concept is maintained. That is, we simultaneously solve issues not only of cultural and educational nature, but also of employment and the development of small and medium-sized businesses.

- What is remarkable about the Goght Urban Valley territory?

- We conducted serious research regarding the construction site and came across unique myths and legends, some of which are passed down from mouth to mouth, and the other part are documented in various sources. Some of the legends go back to our forefather Noah, the other part - to Argishti I. Of course, history and myths are often intertwined, but it is known for certain that this beautiful valley was the favorite summer residence of the Armenian kings.

Our gaze is turned to the future, and we want to be worthy followers of all those people whose dreams were connected with this region.

- Do you personally have a favorite place in Goght Urban Valley?

- I like our idea of ​​the Center of Attraction most of all. This is the largest square in Armenia, which is entirely intended for walking. This is two hectares of green area, part of which is occupied by a lush apricot garden, and the other part, about half, is a green lawn. This is an area where children can play in absolute safety and their parents can relax, where a variety of public events will be held - from an ice skating rink and a New Year's tree in winter, to concerts and cheerful folk festivities on holidays, and at all times of the year. All buildings and structures for various service sectors, except, perhaps, the Cigar Club and the Lovers' Alley Cafe, will be included in this site.

- Lover's Alley? Sounds nice.

- Yes, yes, we will have a wonderful alley and a “Cafe for Lovers” - an ideal corner for those who value romance, style and sophistication. In Goght Urban Valley, nature itself creates an atmosphere of calm and beauty; it’s impossible not to fall in love here. Crystal clear air, stunning forests and mountains, magical sounds of nature create an amazing aura of harmony and love here.
